About Sans Souci Cruise Terminal

The city's cruise terminal, five minutes from the Colonial Zone across the Ozama, used by Marella, AIDA and smaller lines as a turnaround port. Most of our passengers here are either transferring straight from SDQ to the ship or leaving the ship for a flight the same afternoon.

Address our drivers use: Terminal Sans Souci, Avenida España, Santo Domingo Este

The approach road

From SDQ we stay on the Las Américas highway and turn off onto Avenida España before the bridges, so a port transfer never enters city traffic. The terminal has a controlled gate; cars stop at the drop-off apron and the port shuttle takes over from there.

From the SDQ exit to your door

  1. 1Name-sign meet at SDQ arrivals with your ship name on the board if you like.
  2. 2Fifteen minutes on the highway, no toll on this leg.
  3. 3Off at Avenida España and along the river to the port gate.
  4. 4Drop at the terminal apron, where porters take luggage for check-in.

Where the car stops

At the terminal drop-off apron inside the gate. For disembarkation we wait in the pickup lane with a name sign once you clear the terminal doors.

Departure: when to leave the hotel

Embarkation days: be at the terminal at least three hours before sailing, because gates close early. Disembarkation to SDQ takes 20 to 30 minutes, so a 13:00 flight works comfortably from an 08:00 walk-off.

What is around it

The Colonial Zone is a five-minute drive over the bridge, which is why passengers with a spare morning often book a short city tour between ship and flight. Hotels in the old city and on the Malecón are the usual pre-cruise night.

Dispatch notes

  • · Tell us the ship name and sailing time; we time the pickup to the gate closure, not to the departure.
  • · If your flight is late in the day we can add a Colonial Zone stop with luggage in the car.
  • · Shortest fixed-price run we do from SDQ apart from the airport hotels.
