Day trips from Santo Domingo by private car
Altos de Chavón, Los Haitises, Jarabacoa, Bayahibe boats — with your own driver waiting.

Short answer
A private car with a driver for the day beats a coach tour if you are two to six people: you leave when you want, stop where you want, and skip the four hotel pickups. We quote by destination and hours, not per person, and the driver waits at each stop. Popular day trips from Santo Domingo: Altos de Chavón and La Romana, Bayahibe for a Saona boat, Los Haitises from Sabana de la Mar, Jarabacoa and Constanza in the mountains.
What a day hire includes
Vehicle, driver, fuel and tolls for the agreed hours, with waiting time at each stop. Entry tickets, boats and lunch are yours. Vans work for six or more.
The classic routes
East: Altos de Chavón and Casa de Campo ($130 zone), continuing to Bayahibe ($140) for a Saona catamaran — leave by 7:00 for the boats.
North: Jarabacoa waterfalls, or Samaná and Las Terrenas ($275) as a long day and better as an overnight. Los Haitises boats leave from Sabana de la Mar.
Tours vs transport
We are a transport company: we drive, we wait, we do not guide. For guided excursions with tickets included, our sister company cana.tours handles the same island with licensed guides.
Frequently asked questions
How much is a full day?
It depends on distance and hours; send the itinerary on WhatsApp and you get a fixed number in writing.
Does the driver speak English?
Request an English-speaking driver when booking and we assign one; all drivers speak Spanish.
Can we change the plan during the day?
Within the agreed hours and region, yes. Big detours are re-quoted on the spot.
Are entrance fees included?
No — tickets, boats, national park fees and meals are paid by you directly.
Can you do a day trip on arrival day?
Possible but tiring after a long flight; most guests start the day after.
