Short answer
Golf travel bags do not fit in a sedan with luggage: two or more golfers with clubs need the VIP van. From SDQ, Casa de Campo is $130 standard / $280 VIP and about 1h45, Cap Cana $225 and roughly 3 hours. Book the van, add an hour of buffer for a morning tee time, and tell us the bag count.
Vehicle sizing
One golfer with a travel bag and a suitcase fits a Standard car. Two or more do not — the van goes with the rear seats folded and the bags standing.
Four golfers with four travel bags is a van every time, and it is worth saying so at booking rather than discovering it at the kerb.
The courses and the drive
Casa de Campo (Teeth of the Dog, Dye Fore, The Links) is the closest serious golf to SDQ at about 1h45. Cap Cana (Punta Espada) and Bávaro (Corales, Cocotal, Iberostar, Punta Blanca) are 3 to 3h30 — $225 and $240 respectively.
Resort security at Casa de Campo and Cap Cana registers the vehicle at the gate; give us the villa or hotel name exactly as on your booking so the guard finds it first time.
Tee times and departures
For an early tee time the day after you land, we recommend arriving at the resort the evening before. On the way home, leave Casa de Campo 4h30 before an international flight from SDQ and Cap Cana 5h30 — the highway is fine, the check-in queue is not.
Frequently asked questions
Do you charge extra for golf bags?
No fee for the bags; you pay the VIP van rate for your zone if the group needs the larger vehicle.
Can you do course-to-course transfers?
Yes, quoted as a separate leg, including day trips from La Romana to Punta Espada.
Is La Romana airport better for golf?
LRM is 10 minutes from Casa de Campo, but has few flights. Most golfers land at SDQ or PUJ.
Can the driver wait while we play?
For a round, an hourly hire makes more sense than waiting time — ask us for a day rate.
Rental clubs or bring your own?
Both work; renting at the resort removes the vehicle-size question entirely.
