The approach road
From SDQ we run the Las Américas highway, pay the Máximo Gómez toll, cross the Ozama on the Duarte bridge and pick up Avenida George Washington along the sea. The hotel has a proper covered driveway off the seafront avenue, so this is one of the easiest drop-offs in Santo Domingo.

Departure: when to leave the hotel
Three hours before an international flight: 05:00 in the lobby for an 08:00 departure, 08:30 for a 12:00. Weekday mornings the 27 de Febrero and Máximo Gómez junctions are slow, so we leave from the Malecón side rather than cutting through Gazcue.
What is around it
The Colonial Zone starts about a 12-minute walk east along the seafront, the Plaza de la Cultura museums are ten minutes inland, and the Sans Souci cruise terminal is a 15-minute drive.
